Katy Perry recently talked about her decision to support Ellen DeGeneres amid the ongoing criticisms publicly.
Earlier this month, Katy Perry posted a lengthy tweet about DeGeneres. The singer shared what it was like for her to guest on Ellen Show.
Perry already said then that she knows she can’t speak for anyone else’s experiences. But she stressed that she only had positive takeaways from her time on the program.
“I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her platform for decades. Sending you love & a hug, friend @TheEllenShow,” she wrote.

While speaking with The Los Angeles Times, Perry explained that it wasn’t her intention to undermine anyone else’s experience. But the singer was simply talking from her own experience.
“I have over 100 million people that follow me on Twitter, so not everyone is going to agree with me. And I’m not here to make everyone agree with me,” she said.
Perry was one of the first celebrities to come to DeGeneres’ defense. Ashton Kutcher, Diane Keaton, and Jay Leno have also defended the comedian. However, more people continue to slam DeGeneres.
Ellen Show set likened to The Devil Wears Prada
This week, one former Ellen Show employee shared what it was like to work on the set of the daytime talk show. While speaking with Brisbane radio show, the former camera said that it was like The Devil Wears Prada.
According to Daily Mail, the former employee’s description suggests that there is a tense environment on the set of the show. The staff is also walking on eggshells while dealing with their demanding boss.
“I worked there for a little over a year. It’s kind of like The Devil Wears Prada. Everyone is trying to make it to the [end of a] year. It’s just a badge of honor to have that and have it on your résumé.’ I wasn’t even allowed in the same room as her. Most people are told, ‘When Ellen enters the room, you and your entire crew need to leave.’ Sometimes her bodyguards come forward first and you kind of see them and you know to leave and that’s it,” the former employee said.
Ellen DeGeneres hasn’t thanked Katy Perry publicly
DeGeneres has responded to some of the complaints made by former Ellen Show employees. But she continues to stay mum on the criticisms directed at her.
Portia de Rossi’s wife hasn’t also thanked Katy Perry and her other supporters publicly.
