Kelly Clarkson is, allegedly, furious with Reba McEntire because the singer no longer supports her as much as she used to following her divorce.
According to Life & Style, McEntire used to be so fond of Kelly Clarkson. And she even vowed to support the American Idol winner after her split from Brandon Blackstock.
However, McEntire’s loyalty seemingly changed especially since she was once married to Clarkson’s former father-in-law.
During an interview, McEntire said that she hopes both parties will be able to resolve their issues. And this, allegedly, triggered Clarkson.
Kelly Clarkson upset with Reba McEntire
After all, the talk show host thought that McEntire would take her side.
“Kelly’s upset that Reba’s isn’t more supportive considering everything Brandon has put her through. She says Reba is being diplomatic when the bottom line is, Brandon is being a huge jerk. It’s tough Reba’s turned her back on Kelly, and it really hurts,” the source said.
The insider added that Clarkson thought McEntire was on her side because the latter was aware of everything that Blackstock put her through. But the fact that McEntire stayed neutral was concerning for Clarkson.
Reba McEntire is close with Brandon Blackstock
Unfortunately, McEntire cannot keep supporting Clarkson because she also has a relationship with Blackstock.
“He holds a special place in Reba’s heart. For a while, she was trying to play peacekeeper. But as much as she loves Kelly and Brandon both, she decided it’s best if she keeps out of it,” the source said.
The insider added that Kelly Clarkson still hopes that she and McEntire could patch things up. But for now, the two singers are still on very shaky ground.
Rumors debunked
However, one should take the tabloid’s claims with a grain of salt.
It’s unlikely for McEntire to have been taking sides when Clarkson and Blackstock decided to file for divorce. This narrative just came from the tabloids and not from McEntire herself.
Since Kelly Clarkson and Blackstock are already adults, they don’t need to force McEntire to be on their side. And if she’s not, it’s unlikely for the exes to be upset with her.
