Kelly Clarkson is, allegedly, traumatized by how marriage turned out.
According to Woman’s Day, Kelly Clarkson didn’t think that she would get divorced from Brandon Blackstock because everything seemed to be going well for them very early on.
“When she met Brandon, she thought all was finally right in her world. And he helped her work through her issues over being abandoned by her dad as a kid. But the blissful feeling didn’t last long,” the source said.
Kelly Clarkson tired of saying her ex didn’t cheat on her
Clarkson and Blackstock’s marriage, allegedly, ended due to the latter’s infidelity. But the exes have denied the claims.
However, having to shoot down the rumors about Blackstock cheating on Clarkson has taken a toll on the singer.
“The stress of constantly having to shoot down the accusations nearly tipped Kelly over the edge. Unfortunately, it was all or nothing in the end, and she just cracked,” the source said.
Clarkson announced her split from Blackstock last summer. And the exes are now in the process of divorcing.
Brandon Blackstock demanding millions from his ex-wife
However, the talent manager has been asking Clarkson for over $5 million in spousal support.
The American Idol winner is trying to counter Blackstock’s demands in court. However, the judge has yet to decide on the matter.
According to the source, the silver lining in the divorce is Kelly Clarkson getting her own talk show.
After all, hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show made the singer realize that she was going to be OK without her ex-husband.
“In fact, Brandon and his drama were only dragging her down. Pulling the trigger on the divorce was the hardest thing she’s ever done, especially since it’s playing out so publicly,” the source said.
But despite the couple’s ongoing drama, the insider said that Clarkson will always love Blackstock.
Kelly Clarkson gives update on her kids post-split
However, Clarkson is hurt and worried about their two kids and how they’re going to take it all.
Following the split, Clarkson revealed that her kids, River Rose and Remington have been seeing a therapist.
“We have a lot of help as far as therapists or child psychologists because we want to do it right. I definitely want to do it right. Everyone’s sad and it’s OK to be sad,” Kelly Clarkson said.
