Rappers Kid Cudi and Eminem dropped a song about injustices to start the weekend in “The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady”.
The entertainment industry has been voicing out social injustices lately through music. Songwriters like H.E.R. just released a “painful” song in honor of George Floyd last month.
Now, this hip-hop duo has dropped another thought-provoking song. Kid Cudi posted a video announcement yesterday through his daughter Vada.

“The Adventures of Moon Man and Slim Shady” is Kid Cudi’s third song of the year, following “Leader of Delinquents” as well as his collaboration with Travis Scott, “The Scotts” which made its way to number one last month during a virtual event in Fortnite.
With the Black Lives Matter movement still going on in the U.S., it looks like as early as May, Kid Cudi already reached out to the “Rap God” through this cryptic tweet.

The unneeded distraction that shook the rap community
Eminem has taken a lot of shots this year by dissing other rap artists including Diddy’s Revolt TV in a leaked version of Conway’s “Bang”. Revolt TV came out with a statement as per Billboard saying that Eminem’s leaked verse was an “unneeded distraction.”
Later on, he apologized to Revolt TV for his behavior on the leaked diss track.

After this incident, the 47-year-old rapper tries to realign his views through issues that matter with a song collaboration with Kid Cudi.

Kid Cudi collaboration putting him in the right direction
It looks like Eminem was able to restore his relationship with Diddy’s Revolt TV as they have also acknowledged the new release from the duo.
The song actually talks about recovery and current events and the lyric presentation shows the two rappers in an animation.
Kid Cudi starts it off by showing his late-night trips, his stint in rehab, and going through the “dark and the light” as he raps in the first half of the lyric video.
In the next half of the song, Eminem raps about the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the police brutality that the black people have recently encountered. He also criticized the U.S. government for how they are handling the pandemic as he raps:
“Half of us walking around like a zombie apocalypse, other half are just pissed off and don’t want to wear a mask.”
At the end of the song, he also inserted in his verse “Prayers for George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery” followed by bars of why the police are so dirty and a lyrical narrative on how they treated George Floyd before his death.
Racial discrimination still exists all over the world, especially in America and social injustices are rampant nowadays. The NBA has recently taken a step in letting players put statements on their jerseys as their way of supporting causes.
Now songs that are being released by influential artists may help in easing social tensions and hopefully peace.
