Kim Kardashian under fire over controversial maternity collection
Kim K’s new Skims line came weeks after facing a wave of backlash over her maternity collection.
To recall, the KKW Beauty owner received criticisms stating that it conveys a negative message towards pregnant women.
Based on her previous post, the KUWTK star shared that her maternity solution wear “offers the best in comfort and support for your changing body during and after pregnancy,” following a photo of pregnant models wearing the undergarments–from sculpting nursing bra, shorts, leggings, onesies and in different shades.
However, fans flocked to Twitter as they aim at Kim Kardashian’s maternity collection, pointing out that it promotes body shame and puts women’s pregnancy at risk.
Although she did not mention a brand or named dropped anyone, British actress and radio presenter Jameela Jamil took a subtle dig at the Skims founder.
In a tweet, The Good Place star pointed out that women should celebrate how their “body is changing for an amazing reason.” Furthermore, she also advised the public that pregnant women should not feel “self-conscious” or be “embarrassed” about their bodies. Kim Kardashian stands by Skims
Shortly after being lashed out at, the Kardashian multi-millionaire responded to criticism as she mentioned that she is “proud” to support pregnant women.
The mother-of-four insisted that she knows the struggle of being pregnant and how difficult it is to find a perfect undergarment that is right for the growing belly.
“To anyone who has an issue with maternity solution wear, and if you haven’t been pregnant before you may not know the struggle of what it’s like carrying all of this weight the way I did along with millions of strong women, @skims maternity line is not too slim but to support,” she posted on Twitter.
