Kim Kardashian supports Kanye West, now compared to Melania Trump

Although she earlier warned her husband about his possible presidential run, Kim Kardashian showed her support to Kanye West’s plan to run for United States President.

Kanye West surprised everyone when he announced he would be running for U.S. President. Although Kim Kardashian seemed to dislike this move when rumors started to emerge in 2016, it looked like the tables were turned.

Kanye West’s surprising announcement

The 43-year-old rapper made everyone’s jaw dropped when he announced his plans in a tweet on Sunday, July 5.

“We must now realize the promise of America by trusting God, unifying our vision, and building our future,” he tweeted. “I am running for president of the United States.”

It has yet to be known if he is earnest about it, as Election Day is about to take place in four months. However, he used the hashtag #2020Vision to end his tweet, along with the U.S. flag.

To show her support, Kim Kardashian re-tweeted her husband’s post and captioned it with the U.S. flag.

According to Daily Mail, rumors about Kanye West’s plan to run for a seat in the White House have been swirling for a long time now. He even said in November that he planned to join the presidential race in 2024.

However, it remains to be seen if he did any official paperwork to be part of this year’s election. Although there’s no deadline to join the race, he must meet the entire filing requirement needed under the Ballot Access Laws, which vary depending on state law.

Also, the submission’s deadline for the ballot’s independent candidates has yet to be passed in many states – even in California.

Kim Kardashian’s support for her husband

Meanwhile, in an interview with Wonderland in 2016, Kim Kardashian seemed to disapprove of the rumors that Kanye West would run for office.

“Look at all the awful things they’re doing to Melania [Trump], putting up the naked photos [of her],” she said. “I’ll say to Kanye: ‘Babe, you know the kind of photos they’d put up of me!'”

The singer-songwriter’s announcement met a lot of mixed reactions and criticisms.

And just like Melania Trump, Kim Kardashian has also been the center of media attention. If her husband manages to win, the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star may suffer the same fate.

Social media users even started to compare the two women, Meaww noted.

“The GOP continues its quest to secure the sleaziest, sluttiest first lady in the land. Nice try, Kim, but Melania Trump still has you beat in that area,” one critic said. “We go from first lady Melania to Kim Kardashian. I mean they both have porn in common at least long sigh I miss our forever first lady,” another added.

Another social media user said that Michelle Obama had set a high bar for the next First Ladies to follow. If Melania Trump seems to be very private, it looks like critics will use Kim Kardashian’s past against her.
