A turn-based MMORPG set in the prehistoric age involving organic and robotic dinosaurs, StoneAge World, has rolled its way into mobile and is now taking pre-registrations.
The StoneAge series is a popular and longstanding franchise in South Korea with some gameplay elements similar to Pokemon. Particularly, collecting ‘pets,’ hatching eggs, exploring maps, and engaging in combat in a turn-based manner.
It has been ongoing for the last 20 years and is exclusive mostly in Asian territories. Subsequently, it had garnered around 200 million players in its space of influence.
The game is being developed by one of the country’s biggest and most seasoned game developers, Netmarble.
International Debut
Making for the first for the franchise, the mobile title StoneAge World launches worldwide and is playable overseas, like North America. As of writing, pre-registrations are up for the up and coming game.
Playable in both Android and iOS, StoneAge World revolves around cavemen from the prehistoric age, including dinosaurs to tame as pets. Players get to hatch these ancient creatures in order to train them and use them within and outside combat.
The game takes place in an open-world map where players can explore and engage techno-dinosaurs as enemies.
That’s a Lot of Dinos
Like the Pokemon series, there is a myriad of ‘pets’ to encounter and collect in-game. Each of which has a unique identity, including a diverse animation style. Overall, there are at least 250 creatures to come across and collect.
Designed to be cute in mind, however, every critter featured in the game are adorable to look at, despite the menacing traits. A style of visuals that are known from the country and which has appeal in a certain market.
Pre-registration Perks
Aimed at encouraging newcomers from overseas to try the game, StoneAge World is rolling out freebies to coincide its initial launch.
Interested players who would choose to sign up from the game’s website are entitled 1 million stones—the game’s own unique currency.

Alternatively, players who seek better reward may choose to register from either the App Store or Google Play. Those who opt for the mobile registration gets 50,000 shells, which is the game’s premium currency.
Although StoneAge World’s gameplay is neither innovative nor original, it features elements gamers love. Like, real-time open-world exploration, turn-based combat, as well as unique emotes that drive engagement towards the game.
StoneAge World will see an official worldwide release on June 18, 2020.
