Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler were on the headlines this week after announcing to the world that they have called it quits.
While the public was shocked by the news, people around them already knew that they are heading for divorce.
“This split a long time coming,” a source told The Hollywood Life. “The relationship had stalled and they have tried working it out but just realized they’re better off not together.”
Insiders revealed that the pair are totally different people which means they are not really compatible.
Due to their differences, it is easy to see that they have fought about many things and this could have contributed to their decision to end their 6-year marriage.
The couple tried to save their relationship
The divorce was a mutual decision and the American television personality already mentioned in their reality show called Very Callari that she is not happy anymore.
She kept it real and did not hide about their struggles as a couple until they decided to finally break up.
Recently, the couple and their three children, Camden, 7, Jaxon, 5, and Saylor, 4, spent weeks in the Bahamas for quarantine since the lockdown is in place but their time together in a relaxing and romantic place did not change anything in their decision.
“The Bahamas trip was planned and has nothing to do with this and was not a last-ditch effort to save their marriage,” the tipster shared. “They have really tried to make it work for years but are on different pages about lifestyles and were arguing a lot.”
The former American football quarterback still loves his wife and he has always been a good father to their children so they know that they will forever be in each other’s lives even if they separate.
There will still be love between them but definitely not a romantic one anymore.
The divorce announcement
In any case, Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler officially announced their split via social media. The ex-couple posted the same message on their respective Instagram on April 27.
“With great sadness, after 10 years together we have come to a loving conclusion to get a divorce,” part of their message reads. “We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of.”
They ended their statement by saying that their divorce happened as they grew apart over the years. Lastly, the pair asked for understanding and support from their family and friends.
