Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones is famous in the Marvel universe. And once again, she’s in the news but with rumors of a possible entry in the MCU!
As per Comic Book Resource, actress Krysten Ritter may return as Jessica Jones in MCU’s She-Hulk Disney Plus series. Early rumors came from industry scooper DanielRPK. He’s known for giving out key Marvel information in the form of leaks.
However, so far, there’s been no word from the actress herself regarding such speculations. But she’s believed to be in talks with Marvel Studios.
How will Jessica Jones appear in She-Hulk?
As everyone already knows, Krysten Ritter played the iconic role for three seasons on Netflix from 2015 to 2019. Apart from that, she played the character in the limited series The Defenders as well. It was a crossover event show between Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist.
Now what’s interesting to note is that Netflix’s contract with these Marvel characters and their shows is about to end soon this year. All the above-mentioned shows stand canceled already, and there’s no way the streamer will make any more of them. And speaking of rights, then Disney is expected to regain them in 2021, in the coming months. What does that mean?
It implies merely that Kevin Feige can use all these iconic Marvel characters in the future MCU projects. And now, with the arrival of Disney Plus, Marvel Studios can make it happen in a giant manner. There are a lot of planned TV shows based on the franchise and some new ones as well. One of the titles among them is the She-Hulk series. It will show Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, playing a lawyer apart from being a superheroine.
It’s a known fact that Jessica Jones is related to Daredevil, who’s also a famous lawyer. And it’s bound to happen that if actor Charlie Cox (who portrays him) appears in the She-Hulk, Krysten Ritter may come back as well!
On top of this, MCU boss Kevin Feige himself told, recently, that he’s open to future possibilities when it comes to the return of characters from Netflix shows.
“I’ve been at Marvel long enough to never say never about anything.”
Plus, actress Ritter herself said, back in 2019, that she might reprise the role again if any opportunity arises.
Upcoming MCU entries in the future
Meanwhile, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are geared up for the beginning of Phase four, eventually. WandaVision is just about to premiere a few days from now, on Jan. 15th. After that, another show, Falcon and the Winter Soldier will make its way on the Disney+ streaming service. On the side of movies, Black Widow is expected to be released in May. Then there’s Shang-Chi, Eternals, and Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 3 in December 2021.
Coming back to Jessica Jones, further details will only come out once She-Hulk enters its production later this year. Because then there will be the chance for leaked set images to tell whether Krysten Ritter is coming back or not.
