Kyle Massey has been issued a warrant of arrest after failing to appear before the court.
News outlets confirmed that Kyle Massey missed his first court date in Washington State for his charge of “immoral” communication with a minor.
Per Fox News, his absence in King County led to the issuance of the warrant. The former Disney Channel star was scheduled to face a judge in a Seattle courthouse.
However, his absence to address the felony count and enter in a plea caused a judge to approve a $100,00 warrant of arrest.
The authorities scheduled the court date on June 28, and the court continued the hearing on Monday.
According to Massey’s attorney, Lee Hutton, his legal team made several phone calls to the King County District Attorney’s office. However, they, reportedly, did not receive a single response at all.
“[The legal team] is concerned with the misrepresentations made in court. Indeed, we will move forward to defend these allegations but also determine why due process has not been followed,” the statement says.
Meanwhile, prosecutors debunked the claims that the District Attorney’s office has been uncooperative. The memorandum stated they did not have a record regarding the aforesaid communication from any attorney.
“That prosecutor is listed in the public court documents. Further, Mr. Massey, nor any representatives of him, have filed anything in the Court docket,” the statement went on.
It added that the attorney may have been calling the wrong office. It noted that Massey previously acknowledged the filing of the case.
Thus, they firmly stated that no misrepresentation ever occurred.
Why Massey faces legal troubles
In the court documents obtained by Fox News, Massey received accusations that he once engaged in immoral contact with a minor. the incident, reportedly, happened in December 2018 when he was 27 and the victim was 13 years old.

The matriarch added that Massey knew the victim since she was 4 years old.
Meanwhile, Massey previously denied the claims and said that he was the target of extortion.
