Being friends with another female artist was once an impossible thought for Lady Gaga. But after she met Ariana Grande, collaboration in Hollywood became worthwhile for her.
The collaboration of Lady Gaga with Ariana Grande gave her a chance to change her perspective among Hollywood artists.
In Lady Gaga’s interview on CBS Sunday Morning, she admitted that it is difficult for women to befriend one another. Per the 34-year-old singer, women in the entertainment industry find it hard to even speak and create connections.
Despite this impossibility, she felt thankful to found a friend in Ariana.
“I love that girl,” she candidly said. “You know how hard it is to make a female friend in this business? In this business, having a female friend is like watching a pig fly.”
She marked her first collaboration with the 27-year-old singer through their song Rain of Me. Even after they filmed it, the two remain friends, making Lady Gaga happier than ever.
Gaga, Ariana Grabbed their First Award Together
During the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, the two scored three awards for their hit duet—song of the year, best collaboration, and best cinematography.
When Lady Gaga accepted their first award together for best collaboration, she delivered a heartwarming message for her partner.
Per the Mother Monster, they turned their tears “that felt like endless rainfall” into diamonds while making the collaboration.
“This means the world,” Lady Gaga said as she received her award from Jaden Smith. “Ariana and I really connected through this song.”
She also referred to them as true soul sisters.
In the end, she noted how they went through a lot of hardships but still willing to share everything and support each other.

Lady Gaga spoke the same comments earlier this month to longtime choreographer Richy Jackson.
According to Jackson, the Rain on Me collaboration opened the doors for Ariana to glide right into the Gagaland galaxy, Jackson.
Even the choreographer himself saw how the two looked like sisters even when they are working.
“[Lady Gaga and Ariana] were laughing, cracking up, speaking about fashion, going over the dance moves, talking to each other, coordinating with each other,” he said.
He added that seeing the two together brought a good time though they were working.
Meanwhile, even the 7 Rings hitmaker remained unstoppable in showing her love for Lady Gaga. She showered her with love for her birthday earlier this year.
Rain on Me successfully won people’s hearts; it connected Lady Gaga and Ariana, too.
