The testing will be made exclusively for Android users and will be selected randomly after registration. This means that not everyone who registers will get to be part of the limited-time event.
In addition, the said campaign will also not see a worldwide implementation. Rather, only in two select regions: namely, the countries of Brazil and the Philippines.
Once it rolled off, the testing will last until June 27, 2020.
While not necessarily the largest of markets, there is good reasoning behind Riot Games’ choice of the locales. Instead of eyeing for the big markets, the likes of China and India, the move focuses on areas with least familiarity.
The issue boiling down to the perception of the audiences in the two regions. In that, not many are as intimate in how ‘regular’ players play the game. Which is an alternative saying that Riot Games is seeking reception and feedbacks from non-regular LoL players.
Anyone interested in League of Legends: Wild Drift’s upcoming alpha testing may choose to pre-register at the Google Play Store. Subsequently, Riot Games will start rolling out game invites on June 6.
Worthy of note, however, the game’s servers will not see immediate access for alpha testers until June 8. The plan is taken as a pre-emptive to assess the game’s overall stability prior to the alpha testing.
Knowledge surrounding Wild Drift came as early as 2019, which was in the time of League of Legend’s 10th-anniversary celebration. Since then, the game has been in slow development and was subsequently hampered by the ongoing coronavirus crisis.
Riot Games was able to demonstrate the game’s progress from the recent update. But the developer discourages an illicit download that relates to the game, claiming that there’s little to see yet. Something that the audiences will indeed see when the actual alpha testing phase kicks in.
