Leak suggests Intel Tiger Lake processor will feature dual-core setup

A recent leak suggests that the upcoming Intel Tiger Lake processor for the lower-end market will retain its dual-core setup.

The Intel Tiger Lake processor in question here is the 11th-generation mobile Core i3 variant. If this leak is true, then it is a huge disappointment for those who are expecting more powerful hardware. The upcoming Core i3 will most likely power low-end laptops and devices.

Prior to the recent leak, the tech community is expecting a quad-core processor from Intel. There are several speculations that the Core i3-1115G4 will have four cores. However, the recent leak proves that the tech giant is going even lower with just a dual-core setup.

Upcoming Intel Tiger Lake processors

The recent leak was from a notable tech tipster TUM_APISAK who shared it on Twitter. The leaker leaked major information about the upcoming 11th-generation Core i3 processor.

According to TUM_APISAK, the processor will have two cores and four threads. The leaker shared that the processor has a base clock of 3GHz, but did not reveal the boost clock speed. Additionally, the processor will also have a 1.25MB L2 cache and a 6MB L3 cache.

It comes as no surprise why the tech community is disappointed with the latest leak. Dual-core setups are usually reserved for low-end devices, and they are somewhat dated considering the current tech trends.

Nevertheless, it is important to treat these leaks with a grain of salt. Intel has not confirmed any specs of its upcoming Tiger Lake series of processors. While these leaks give a good perspective of what to expect, it is always worthwhile to trust verifiable facts.
