A recent leak suggests that the upcoming Intel Tiger Lake processor for the lower-end market will retain its dual-core setup.
The Intel Tiger Lake processor in question here is the 11th-generation mobile Core i3 variant. If this leak is true, then it is a huge disappointment for those who are expecting more powerful hardware. The upcoming Core i3 will most likely power low-end laptops and devices.
Prior to the recent leak, the tech community is expecting a quad-core processor from Intel. There are several speculations that the Core i3-1115G4 will have four cores. However, the recent leak proves that the tech giant is going even lower with just a dual-core setup.
Upcoming Intel Tiger Lake processors
The recent leak was from a notable tech tipster TUM_APISAK who shared it on Twitter. The leaker leaked major information about the upcoming 11th-generation Core i3 processor.
According to TUM_APISAK, the processor will have two cores and four threads. The leaker shared that the processor has a base clock of 3GHz, but did not reveal the boost clock speed. Additionally, the processor will also have a 1.25MB L2 cache and a 6MB L3 cache.

It comes as no surprise why the tech community is disappointed with the latest leak. Dual-core setups are usually reserved for low-end devices, and they are somewhat dated considering the current tech trends.
Nevertheless, it is important to treat these leaks with a grain of salt. Intel has not confirmed any specs of its upcoming Tiger Lake series of processors. While these leaks give a good perspective of what to expect, it is always worthwhile to trust verifiable facts.

Last week, Intel leaked several important information about its upcoming launch on its website nonetheless. Tech fans were able to extrapolate information from the company’s event calendar. Based on the data fans have acquired, it appears that Intel is planning to a big event on September 2.
The calendar entry only stated, “Tiger Lake Virtual Launch Event.” Whatever that means, it appears that it involves the Intel Tiger Lake family of processors. There are also hints that it is planning to unveil its new graphics card series on the same event.
It appears that the company is already preparing for the release of its upcoming series of hardware. The tech community is also excited to know what is in store for the Intel Tiger Lake family of processors.
