Switch fans are getting hyped ever since a reliable leaker revealed that the Japanese gaming giant is planning to hold a new Nintendo Direct this month.
It has been speculated that a new Nintendo Direct presentation is going to be held later this July. These exclusive online events have set the standard for video game showcases.
Nintendo Direct served as the prototype to most live streams that have been held after the coronavirus pandemic forced E3 and the Tokyo Game Show to be canceled.
Rise of online presentations
Companies are now taking their newest development news to the World Wide Web. This was the case with Sony’s highly anticipated PlayStation 5 live-stream reveal event.
The event was held just last month and was viewed by millions of players as Sony finally unveiled their next-gen console. During the event, Sony also introduced a few new games that will run on the PlayStation 5.
Not to be outperformed, Microsoft will also be holding a live stream event later this month. The event will feature Xbox Series X first-party games.
The event will be a part of the ongoing Summer Games Fest and will air on July 23. However, Nintendo seems to have no plans to get out of the picture.
The company is reportedly having another of its patented Nintendo Direct showcases later this month.
Nintendo Direct leaked
A few hours ago, rumor site Nintendo Soup announced that the gaming company might be preparing a new Nintendo Direct presentation sometime this month.
The rumor came from Kelios, the webmaster for the Pokekalos website. He precisely predicted the online Nintendo Direct event last March.
He also gained fame for knowing legitimate sources of information inside Nintendo, thus, adding weight to his claims. Kelios first mentioned the alleged Nintendo Direct event in a reply to Twitter’s Jeff Grubb.

Success and controversies
Nintendo is having a rollercoaster year so far, with plenty of ups and downs. For instance, Animal Crossing’s success was mixed with scandalous controversies such as the data breach of 160,000 Switch accounts in April. In addition, lawsuits are still ongoing over the console’s Joy-Con drifting issues.
Despite these challenges, Nintendo is making sure that the coronavirus outbreak will not cause any game delays.
With Xbox and PlayStation working hard to build the hype for the next-gen consoles, Nintendo will most likely stick to focusing on new game announcements. Games like Pokemon Snap and Paper Mario will likely be featured in the upcoming Nintendo Direct event this July.
