Apple is keeping mum on the iPhone 12 release date but the new handset may come with four different models if recent spec leaks are to be believed.
Apple enthusiasts can only hope that the COVID-19 does not delay the release of the aforementioned iPhone 12 as details on the upcoming device keep on coming.
It was reported late last year that five new iPhones are in development which includes four different models of the iPhone 12.
The iPhone 12 models could also be released during the second half of 2020 following the release of the iPhone SE 2.
An image leaked by tech analyst Jon Prosser, who is known for the accuracy of his leaks, seems to confirm that the iPhone 12 will, in fact, be available in four different models.
Prototyping for iPhone 12 devices is just about finalized!
Final details line up pretty well with what Kuo said last year! ????
Expect to see CAD renders of the devices within the next month or two from your favorite leakers! ????

Model specifications for the iPhone12
According to Prosser’s post on Twitter, the stand iPhone 12 models are 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch models respectively along with a 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro.
The leak showed that there will also be a larger 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max. It is said that all of these iPhone 12 models would feature the A14 chipset that allows compatibility with 5G network standards.
The iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max models, in particular, would bring in quite the amazing features as it is rumored that the LiDAR scanner previously seen in the upcoming 2020 iPad Pro had also been integrated into the handsets.
The LiDAR scanner would come alongside the wide-angle, ultra wide-angle, and the telephoto lenses. On the other hand, standard iPhone 12 models would offer dual rear-mounted cameras.
What’s special about the LiDAR scanner is that it can measure the distance to surrounding objects with a limit of 5 meters. Previous leaks for the LiDAR scanner show that it can operate at the photon level at nanosecond speeds.
Design and appearance
Nothing much is known when it comes to the appearance of the iPhone 12. However, it is said that the standard versions would have aluminum bodies while the Pro and Pro Max models are rumored to sport more resilient stainless steel frames.
More than that, as per Prosser’s leaked image, people may finally see the iPhone having smaller display notches, something that should have been done long ago.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was expected that the iPhone 12 could be released sometime during the fall season. Unfortunately, because the coronavirus has put basically the whole world on hold, many are wondering if the handsets’ release would be delayed until next year.
But according to Prosser, since the prototyping for the products had been finalized, there is a high chance that it could be released this 2020.
