The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was an amazing launch title for the Nintendo Switch and fans are longing for the next installment. Fans already know that a sequel is in the works, but other than that, the next game is kept under tight wraps.
It was revealed during Nintendo’s presentation at E3 2019 that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is already in the works. Since then, fans have been longing for more details but Nintendo has been tight-lipped so far. A recent leak a few weeks back suggests that we could be getting new details by at least this month.
Halfway through April, we’ve still yet to get any official details on the sequel but what we do have are possible gameplay features coming to the game. From the look of things, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is going to be grander than its predecessor.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 gameplay details
According to the rumors, the setting of the next game will still be in Hyrule. To spice things up, however, the game will not be an open-world title like the first one. This makes sense considering players should already know the layout of the land.
That being said, towers aren’t going to be needed to reveal parts of the map anymore. Canonically, Link doesn’t need to do so anymore. To give the game a linear approach, developers are going to fill the world with a miasmic version of Ganon. Players will be locked in a certain region until they clear the infection from that area.
That’s not all that players should be excited about. To make the area feel fresh and new, they will be worked out much deeper. Rumors also suggest that dungeons will be appearing throughout the game but it’s not yet revealed whether Guardia Temples are still going to be present.
When it comes to designing the world, the developers are apparently drawing inspiration from Red Dead Redemption 2 and another unknown title.
Is the release coming soon?
From the look of things, the release of the sequel may still be far off. All things considered, Nintendo could have revealed the game during E3 2020 but under the current conditions, that’s highly unlikely. However, Nintendo has been known to surprise fans with amazing announcements so those eagerly anticipating should still have hope.
As these are all rumors, fans should take things with a grain of salt for now. Until the game officially gets details from Nintendo, it’s not wise to keep our hopes up.
