Pokemon Go trainers will need to prepare their teams as Latios and Latias are coming back to Raid Battles this weekend.
The famous Legendary duo, Latios and Latias, are coming back to Pokemon Go as part of a raid update in the game.
Pokemon Go’s success
Pokemon Go was released in 2016 and instantly became a hit worldwide sensation. Although its fame has gone down, it still has managed to retain a massive fan base.
The developers are making sure that the game receives frequent updates to provide new content and fresh features. It includes the recent events that give its players a chance to catch Legendary Pokemon.
Pokemon Go, like everyone else, has not been immune to the effects of the current pandemic. For a game that requires its players to play outside, quarantine protocols have made it difficult to play the game.
To address this issue, the developers are implementing temporary features to the game. The ability to play the Battle League online and the new remote raid pass have made it possible to play the game at home.
Latios and Latias returns
We'll keep it short since most of y'all probably already know:
– New Sticker & Raid Invite feature coming soon 🗓
– Galarian & Alolan Pokémon in 7km eggs after the Throwback Champion Challenge event 🐣

According to Niantic’s announcement on the official Pokemon Go website, Latios and Latias are scheduled to return to Pokemon Go this weekend.
Event time
The Legendary duo first appeared in Gen 3 of Pokemon Ruby and Pokemon Sapphire. Now they will be back in a special Pokemon Go raid event beginning on June 12.
Players can battle Latios and Latias in exclusive five-star raid battles up to June 15, 2020. Luckily, players will now be able to join remote raid battles even if they are just playing at home.
The last time the powerful duo were available to fight and catch in Pokemon Go was last January. It means players who want to add the duo to their collection must grab the opportunity now since it will be impossible to know when they will be available again.
Weaknesses
Since both Pokemon are Dragon/Psychic, they are extremely weak to other Dragon moves and an array of other moves such as Fairy, Dark, Ghost, Bug, and Ice.
Despite having a lot of weaknesses, players will still have to team up with other players to beat and catch the powerful Legendary Pokemon.
Additional events
Alongside Latios and Latias’ return, players looking for new Pokemon should also be wary of several new Galarian Pokemon hatching from eggs.
It is proof of the unending effort of Niantic updating Pokemon Go. They have been constantly adding new Pokemon and rotating Legendaries, such as Latios and Latias, in the game through raid battles and other exclusive events.
