Lenovo’s new budget AMD gaming laptops start at $660. The new 17-inch Legion 5 and 15.6-inch IdeaPad Gaming 3 models.
Gamers looking for a budget upgrade should keep an eye on these new Lenovo laptops. The company will be launching new gaming laptops with up to a Ryzen 4800H APU throughout the summer and fall.
Available later this month is the IdeaPad Gaming 3 15.6-inch starting at $659 with a GTX 1650 Ti GPU. On the other hand, a 17-inch Legion 5 is packing an RTX 2060 GPU will be available in September for $1,089 or more.
Lenovo Legion and IdeaPad
Lenovo is adding two new gaming laptops to its AMD Ryzen 4000 collection. This has been confirmed by the announcement of the new 17-inch Legion 5 and 15.6-inch IdeaPad Gaming 3 models.
The Legion 5 laptop has fundamentally the same specs as the 15.6-inch variant launched back in April. This means that Lenovo is offering a 144 Hz FHD screen with Dolby Vision HDR compatibility for the 17-inch version, along with a 120 Hz FHD option, as per Notebook Check.
Moreover, the DGPU is still limited to an RTX 2060, and the maximum RAM capacity is 16 GB DDR4-3200. The storage side includes one M.2 slot for an NVMe SSD with capacities of up to 1 TB.
Price and Availability
Even though these two gadgets with extreme systems are announced together, availability dates will differ in the sense that the IdeaPad Gaming 3 will go on sale before July ends, while the Legion 5 will start shipping in September.
If that all measures your speed, you can get a 15.6-inch Legion 5 with a GTX 1650 Ti GPU right now for $760. The GeForce RTX 2060 GPU option won’t be available until sometime in August, so you have to wait until then if you do not purchase it now. On the other hand, the $1,090 17.3-inch model with that same GPU won’t start shipping until September.
Another gadget is on deck and will be called the IdeaPad Gaming 3. Yes, another one from Lenovo, which will be released as an Intel-powered laptop with a very similar name earlier this year. If you can get past the vocabulary, you’ll find a machine with a 15.6-inch, full HD display you can trick out with the Ryzen 7 4800H, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti GPU, up to 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM and up to 1TB of SSD storage.
