Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio first met on the set of “Titanic.”

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s friendship is one of the best and strongest friendships in Hollywood. While many thought that they had romantic links because of their roles in Titanic, the pair has repeatedly emphasized that what they have is much more than a romantic relationship.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet’s “platonic” friendship

Kate and Leo starred in James Cameron’s hit film, Titanic, in 1997. Reports said that they first met on the set of the film, where they started their friendship.

The celebrities played the role of the couple, Jack and Rose. Despite the continued insistence of the shippers, Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio stated that they never see each other in a romantic light.

This likely disappointed several fans and supporters. But, reports said that it had become a “blessing in disguise” for the duo. As it happened, they have remained close even after two decades, adding that the friendship between the two is “platonic.”

They continue to hang out and quote Titanic lines

Over the years, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet have repeatedly talked about each other during interviews. Now and then, the actors would share about their trips and hangouts together.

Speaking to Glamour UK, the Divergent star shared that they always find their conversations “funny.” She added that, at times, they quote “odd” Titanic lines back and forth to each other, according to Cheat Sheet. Although she did not reveal what exactly the lines are, Kate said they do it because they “can,” and it is “really funny.”

They always wanted to work with each other

Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet worked together again more than a decade after Titanic. Their avid fans and supporters witnessed them in Revolutionary Road.

The best friends starred as a “dysfunctional couple” in Sam Mendes’ film. The story follows them in the 1950s as they try to mend their broken marriage.

In their interviews since then, the pair have continued to share their praises and compliments toward each other. Following their stint on the 2008 film, Kate said that she is “proud” of her best friend. Meanwhile, Leonardo described her on-screen partner as the “best,” adding that she remains as “beautiful” and as “radiant” as the day they met in 1997.

While much newer details of their friendship have remained private in recent years, likely between Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, the public is seemingly certain that nothing has changed between them.
