The LG Q61 also launched with a 16MP front-facing snapper housed in a punch hole in the upper left section of the screen.
LG has officially unveiled the Q61. The device is the Korean phone manufacturer’s latest addition to its Q-series of smartphones. On paper, the device is a rebadged edition of the LG K61, which was launched globally in February 2020.
A 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with a cutout
The LG Q61 is built around a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display, with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. The phone’s screen is also confirmed to be made of scratch-resistant glass. There is also a cutout on the handset’s display, which houses its single selfie snapper.
On its rear, the phone sports a tidy-looking back design. This is only interrupted by the LG logo, the mounted fingerprint reader, and the quadruple-camera setup.
Easily one of the highlights of the phone is its MIL-STD 810 compliance feature. As it is, the phone boasts military-grade durability.
The phone measures 164.5 x 77.5 x 8.3mm.
MediaTek Helio chipset with 4GB RAM
LG’s latest mid-range smartphone is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P35 SoC, which is based on a 12nm process. The device is then accompanied by PowerVR GE8320, which fuels the phone’s graphics.
The LG Q61 is also coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. The latter is expandable via the phone’s dedicated microSD card slot.
The battery capacity of the phone is listed as a 4,000mAh battery, with no support for any fast charging technology.
48MP-headlined quad-cam setup
In the camera department, the device’s rear is front-lined by a quad-lens setup. The system comprises of a 48MP wide camera, an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 2MP macro module, and a 5MP depth sensor.
Inside the phone’s display cutout, on the other hand, a 16MP selfie shooter.
Other features, pricing, and availability
The LG Q61 also offers a slew of connectivity options. These include dual-band Wi-Fi, LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, and USB Type-C. The phone also supports DTS:X 3D stereo function and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The device runs on Android 9.0 Pie.
Announced in Korea, the LG Q61 carries a price tag of around USD 3000 and retails in a single white color variant.
The phone’s official sales are scheduled to begin on May 29. There is no word yet whether the phone will be brought to the international market.
