LG is innovating smartphone designs most of the time. The upcoming LG Wing 5G is not an exception.
The Android smartphone market is saturated with a lot of options. One way to stand out is to create an innovative device. That is LG’s goal with the upcoming LG Wing 5G.
When the first leaks of its price came out, people were quick to scream that it will be a flop. However, the updated leaks show a very enticing price compared to the competition.
Priced lower than expected
The LG Wing 5G was rumored to retail for more than US$1,500. It is a steep price considering that the specs are supposedly almost the same as the LG Velvet.
However, new rumors point out to a bumped down SRP. XDA Developers mentioned that the new device will most likely have a $1,000 price tag.
It is still $400 more expensive than the Velvet. But, LG is hoping that interested users will buy the phone for its unique form factor.
Flip-out secondary display and more
LG is taking a different step when it comes to dual-screen devices. Other companies prefer a folding form factor. LG opted for a flip-out display for better productivity.
It will have a 6.8-inches main display while the secondary display is smaller at 4-inches. As mentioned earlier, the specs are similar to the Velvet with the Snapdragon 765G. It will have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
There will be three cameras with a 64-megapixel main shooter. Battery size is unknown but it better be huge to power the two displays at once.
Android Authority posted a video of the device at work and it looks very interesting.
The LG Wing 5G could be the company’s gateway to success. However, knowing it as a first-generation device, LG must have the drive to push it forward.
