Lily Collins surprised her fans not with a new project but news about her marriage to director Charlie McDowell.
People’s favorite girl from Paris, Lily Collins, finally tied knots with director Charlie McDowell in Dutton Hot Springs, Colorado.
On Monday, the 31-year-old actress shared photos of the event taken by Cedar & Pines Photography. She revealed that they tied knots on September 4.
“What started as a fairytale, is now my forever reality. I’ll never be able to properly describe how otherworldly this past weekend was, but magical is a pretty good place to start…” she captioned the post.
In another post, she expressed how lucky she is to be his wife before telling the director how much she loves him.
Collins shared another photo and claimed she had never been happier in his life.
After their wedding, McDowell’s mother shared a photo of her son and her now-daughter-in-law, saying that she is the luckiest mother in the world. The matriarch also thanked the two for letting them and the world see the beauty of love.
While it was a serious thing, the director joked that his mother should post the original picture instead of a screenshot.
“Mom, next time I get married, just ask for the photo instead of posting a screenshot with the tags showing,” he quipped. “Also I love you.
Collins, McDowell Grew Stronger
While most Hollywood celebrities broke up during the COVID-19 pandemic, the actress and the director, reportedly, grew closer because of quarantine.
In an interview with L’Officiel magazine, Collins said that the time they spent together solidified their relationship.
“Everyone has very much been who they are these last few months, because there aren’t any external distractions,” she said. “When you’ve seen someone at their best and at their worst and you’re still right there with them, that’s a beautiful thing.”
Before Collins, McDowell dated Emilia Clarke and Rooney Mara. The actress, for her part, had been linked to Zac Efron, Nick Jonas, and Taylor Lautner, among others.
The couple first sparked dating rumors when Metro UK spotted them arm in arm in Los Angeles. At that time, the actress already confessed to Kelly and Ryan that she wanted to be McDowell’s wife the second she met her, prompting a love-at-first-sight meeting.
In August 2019, they finally went Instagram official and continued to have a blooming relationship until they got engaged in September 2020.
