Charlie McDowell proposed to Lily Collins after two years of dating.
Lily Collins seemingly has a lot to celebrate this year. Alongside her latest project, Emily In Paris, which dropped on Netflix earlier this month, her boyfriend of two years proposed to her in late September.
The couple, who made their relationship “Instagram official” last year, announced their engagement on Sept. 25. She and Charlie McDowell took their happiness to the platform and posted a few photos of the special moment.
Two weeks after the announcement, speculations about the details of her wedding have now started to emerge. Hello! magazine recently listed some of the possible wedding dress styles that she might wear on her special day.
What Lily Collins might wear on her wedding
The publication included five styles of dresses that may inspire Lily Collins when choosing her own wedding gown. The details of their wedding have remained undisclosed, though. But, because of her previous looks on red carpet events, she might reportedly use these appearances for inspiration.
The Emily In Paris star attended the Valentino show during the Paris Fashion Week in 2016. She wore a white floral mini dress, adding that she might go for a short gown instead of the traditional full-length piece.

During the same year, she made an appearance at the Annual Critics’ Choice Awards. She donned a “floor-grazing skirt,” completing the look with sheer fabric material for the get-up. She reportedly provided the “bohemian aesthetic,” which is a popular theme for weddings.
Lily Collins might also prefer a tulle overlay in her wedding gown. She wore the style both in 2012 and 2017. She might not, however, wear an “open-chest” piece, as this was the case in her previous appearances.
On the other hand, she might also use her 2018 Annual Breakthrough Prize Ceremony white dress as an inspiration. It features a “fitted bodice” and a “looser skirt.”
The engagement proposal
Charlie McDowell “popped the question” to Lily Collins during an RV trip in Sedona, Arizona, according to Good Housekeeping. The actress said that it was all “pre-planned,” except for the actual proposal.
She and her now-fiancé posted a few snaps on social media, sharing their heartwarming emotions. Several celebrities immediately “flooded” the comment section with their well-wishes.
Lily Collins, later on, told Drew Barrymore on the latter’s show that she feels lucky. “I truly feel like the happiest I’ve ever been,” she noted.
