Lisa Kudrow dropped a shocking revelation about the ups and downs of being in Hollywood.
In her recent interview with Candis Magazine, the blonde beauty details the difference between a celebrity and an actor.
“Being a celebrity is completely different from being an actor. It’s easy enough to be a celebrity; you just show up at parties and be in all the right places and get your photograph into magazines – that’s really doable.”
The 57-year-old actress went on and explained that the most challenging part of being an actor is finding a “role” that suits you.
“It’s much easier than fulfilling yourself as an actor, working on your acting and finding roles that are interesting, which is actually hard.”
Kudrow’s breakthrough role is in the hit comedy sitcom, “Friends,” alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer.
She played the role of the hippie, Central Perk singer, Phoebe Buffay, and even won the Primetime Emmy Award in 1998 as Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series.
The Los Angeles-born actress also starred in the blockbuster 1997 comedy film “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion,” together with Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino.
Lisa Kudrow “Hated” being a Hollywood Star
Moreover, the “P.S I Love You” actress also confessed why she “hated” being a celebrity.
“When Friends first took off, I thought my job was to be a celebrity and I started thinking, ‘Hmmm, should I go to this party or to that one? Should I leave now or for a few minutes more?’ And I tried it and I hated it – really, hated it.”
In addition, she later concluded that she can still continue being an actor without going through the consequences of being a celebrity.
“And then I realized that the one has nothing to do with the other. I could still be an actor without being a celebrity.”
Lisa Kudrow after “Friends”
Now, the blonde beauty is married to French advertising executive Michel Stern and has a 22-year-old son named Julian Murray Stern, who, unlike his parents, wanted to veer away from the spotlight of Hollywood.
Aside from her notable role in the NBC hit sitcom, Kudrow also voiced in the 2014 animated tragicomedy sitcom “BoJack Horseman” and animated comedy film “The Boss Baby.”
Although she has been less active on the big screen, the mother-of-one created and featured in the Primetime Emmy nominee “Web Therapy.”
