With more and more global companies hiring cryptocurrency experts, Lloyd’s Banking Group, one of the United Kingdom’s largest banks, is following this “trend” by posting its own crypto job opening.
In its latest job post, the banking giant is looking for a digital currency and innovation senior manager to help it with its venture in the crypto market. The bank also said that this latest job opening marks the company’s latest venture to tap the rapidly growing digital currency space.
Lloyd’s Banking Group has expressed its interest in cryptocurrencies and said that the integration of cryptos and its existing financial services would be revolutionary for the company.
Adapting to changes
“As a business, we must keep pace with this change and explore opportunities in digital currencies that will impact the speed in which payments settle, derive liquidity benefits, and support the expansion of payment services for banks,” The banking giant said.
The lucky candidate that will be selected by Lloyd’s will be part of the company’s “Payments Liquidity & Settlement” team. This division handles the bank’s intraday payments, liquidity, and settlement risk transactions.
One of the major responsibilities of the bank’s soon-to-be digital currency senior manager is to identify new strategic opportunities that the bank can tap to strengthen its position in the crypto space.
Crypto shift
Lloyd’s Banking Group said that major banks’ interest and investment toward digital currencies, especially in CBDC serves as a motivation to venture into virtual currencies as well.
Its banking peers are also aggressively hiring crypto experts which is a clear indication that banks would soon have a dominant presence in this space soon.
JP Morgan has recently announced that it will hire 34 blockchain experts to help it venture into the highly competitive crypto space.
