The third installment of Log Horizon will now premiere in January 2021. A new visual teases of the returning characters for the season.
Earlier this year, NHK (Japan Broadcasting Station) announce the renewal Log Horizon for a third season. Reportedly, the TV anime series will share the same name of Mamare Touno’s 12th novel volume, entitled Log Horizon: Fall of the Round Table.
The third installment was originally slated for an October 2020 premiere. But just like other manga and anime series, industry-wide shutdowns caused by the global pandemic has affected the production of the title.
As a result, NHK recently confirmed the Log Horizon season 3’s delay. Instead of airing this year, the forthcoming season will premiere on January 2021. The Japanese anime producer even said:
“The spread of the new coronavirus infection had a great impact on the initial production schedule so broadcasting will be changed and postponed.”
Log Horizon releases new visual
To compensate for this disappointing news, the studio released a new visual of the forthcoming season. The image showcased the characters who will return for the third installment. This includes:
- Shiroe (Takuma Terashima)
- Naotsugu (Tomoaki Maeno)
- Akatsuki (Emiri Katō)
- Nyanta (Jouji Nakata)
- Tōya (Daiki Yamashita)
- Minori (Nao Tamura)
- Isuzu (Eriko Matsui)
- Lundellhaus (Tetsuya Kakihara)
- Tetra (Yukiyo Fujii)
"Log Horizon: Destruction Of the Round Table" (S3) has been postponed to January 2021 due to coronavirus. A new visual has also been revealed.

Log Horizon series overview
Log Horizon follows the story of the three kids namely Shiroe, Naotsugu, and Akasuki. After installing the twelfth expansion package of Elder Tale, a widely popular game, the trio found themselves in a mess.
They were transported into the virtual game world and donned their in-game avatars together with 30,000 other players. In the midst of the event, Shiroe, Naotsugu, and Akatsuki decided to team up so that they may face the new world, which has now become their reality.
What to expect in season 3
Continuing where the anime’s second season left off, Shiroe and Akatsuki will discuss Honesty’s research on Fairy Rings. This item can magically teleport players to a specific destination.
Moreover, the players will have to deal with the log reave, wherein they just disappear without any trace. The issue has become a cause for concern after 36 cases emerged following the Catastrophe.
Above all, more problems begin to accumulate at the latest Round Table meeting. Members butt heads over competing ideas and consequently culminates toward a confrontation.
"Log Horizon" Season 3 broadcast date has been postponed to Winter 2021. It was originally due to broadcast this Fall 2020.
