After moving forward from a live-action movie into an original TV series, DC’s Batgirl has found its music composer in Natalie Holt.
In case you don’t know, Natalie Holt is the one who also made the soundtrack of the recent MCU Disney Plus show Loki. And now she will helm the score of HBO Max’s Batgirl as well.
‘Batgirl TV series early details
Thanks to a tweet by Natalie Holt via Collider, now it’s been revealed that she will compose the background score of the DC show.
Batgirl is yet to begin filming. However, the good news is that the show will move forward soon.
Actress Leslie Grace will play the title character of Barbara Gordon, aka the caped, crime-fighting superheroine. It will be her second big outing after Warner Bros.’ last offering, In the Heights.
Talking about the series composer Natalie Holt, she has also worked on titles like Wallander, Knightfall, Paddington, and Deadwater Fell.
Bad Boys For Life director duo of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will helm Batgirl. And Birds of Prey‘s Christina Hodson will write the show’s script.
When it comes to other cast members, then J.K. Simmons will likely return for playing James Gordon. He initially portrayed the character in 2017’s Justice League (and Zack Snyder’s Justice League).
Interestingly, if Simmons makes a comeback, it will imply that Batgirl is set in the DCEU indeed because his character is from Zack Snyder’s movies themselves.

Upcoming DC projects
While the Batgirl TV show is yet to go on floors later in the coming months, there are many other DC-based titles to watch out for.
Speaking of the most-awaited projects, there is Andy Muschietti’s The Flash, starring Ezra Miller. He will reprise the role of Barry Allen, last seen in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
The Flash will also dive deep into unexpected dimensions, dealing with alternate realities of the DC universe.
2019’s Shazam! will also see a sequel making its way in the future. Actor Zachary Levi will return in the Fury of the Gods, directed by David F. Sandberg.
And yes, Black Adam may soon get a crossover with Shazam!, thanks to the upcoming Dwayne Johnson’s solo debut movie.
Matt Reeves’ The Batman, featuring Robert Pattinson as the Dark Knight, will also release in the next year in March. While being a new reboot will be a fresh take on Bruce Wayne’s complex character from DC comics.
Coming back to the Batgirl TV series, again, it will likely begin shooting later this year.
