Netflix just dropped a teaser trailer for Lucifer Season 5 and fans are in for double the devilish fun with Lucifer’s twin brother Michael.
As it looks like, Lucifer Season 5 is picking up where it left off last time, Chloe Decker failing at keeping it together after Lucifer decided to return back to hell.
All tears are wiped dry, nevertheless, following a surprising reappearance of Lucifer back on earth. Of course, Chloe welcomed him with a thirsty kiss. However, the demon hottie is acting a bit strange. It is most probably because it was not him who rose back from hell.
An unexpected twist for Lucifer Season 5
It appears the mess Lucifer will be cleaning up this coming season is the one that his own brother has made. As Bustle puts it, someone got jealous of his brother’s life on Earth, at a point that he’d want it for himself.
As seen in the trailer, Michael expresses his desire to take Lucifer’s life and not to break it. Of course, as if Lucifer would hand it to him that easy, viewers saw a glimpse of the two about go head-to-head on a fistfight.
Per Bustle, a part of the season’s official description reads:
“In the stunning and satisfying fifth season of Lucifer, the stakes are higher than ever. Secrets will be revealed, beloved characters will die, and we’ll finally get an answer to the question, ‘will they or won’t they?'”
What will this mean for Lucifer and Chloe?
Just when fans thought the pair is about to officially become an actual pair, romantically, something explosive comes in between and it is in the guise of Michael, the twin brother—must be the younger brother, per POPSUGAR.

Season 4 finale was a bit of a tearjerker, with Lucifer choosing to return down to hell, rather than staying with Chloe, who was asking him not to leave. A kiss goodbye is always painful, but what’s even worse is finally taking the courage to “seal the deal,” only for it to turn out to be with the wrong man, or in this case, with the wrong twin.
Will this be a dealbreaker for Chloe and Lucifer to ever be in a relationship? Based on the trailer, it looks like Chloe found out about the mistaken identity. She went from “busying herself of work as she can’t stop thinking about Lucifer,” to “busying herself of work to deflect anything related to Lucifer, and God-related.”
Lucifer Season 5 is set for 16 episodes, which will air on August 21 on Netflix. Will Lucifer be able to take things back before Michael ruined it all for him? Stay tuned to find out!
