Lucifer season 5 hasn’t come around yet, but fans are already making their speculations on what’s going to happen next. One plot theory proposes that Chloe Decker (Lauren German) is going to hell.
According to reports, there is no announcement yet from Netflix on when Lucifer season 5 will be released.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the production had to be stopped even before they could finish the finale.
They were able to film the majority of the fifth season, but its release on the streaming platform still had to be delayed.
Teasers from the showrunner
The delay of the supernatural drama series has made fans turn to clue and teasers of what’s coming next. This is also because season 4 ended with a major cliffhanger.
Fans may recall that the season finale closed with Lucifer (Tom Ellis) kissing his first love Chloe and returning to his throne in Hell to fight off demonic forces.
It left the followers of the show wondering about the characters’ love story since Chloe can’t go to hell.
One fan was brave enough to ask showrunner Ildy Madrovich on Twitter for a little tease of Lucifer season 5. Madrovich could only say that she is not allowed to give away any details about the upcoming season.
“I’m sworn to secrecy at the moment. So… going stir crazy on several levels,” she responded.
It showed how Madrovich is struggling with the temporary way of living, including holding back of the show. The writers are tight-lipped for now.
Plot theories
Madrovich’s sworn secrecy isn’t stopping fans from coming up with plot theories, though. They have taken their desperation for season 5 to Reddit.
One fan proposed that Chloe could die at some point in season 5. But then she won’t be able to go to hell if she dies. She goes to heaven due to receiving a blessing from Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) before birth.
This means that even if she dies, she still won’t be able to go to her true love. Another fan proposed, though, that one way or another Chloe will meet Lucifer again.
There must be a purpose on why she crossed paths with Lucifer and even fell in love with each other. Perhaps she is created to be the Queen of Hell. But then again, speculations say that season 5 will end with a cliffhanger.
The show is said to leave the door open for another season, so Chloe may not die so soon. Nothing is certain yet with Lucifer season 6 as earlier reports revealed a contract disagreement between Ellis and Warner Bros. Television.
Fans will have to stay tuned for more details on Lucifer season 5.
