Marvel Studios will add another movie to its current phase again with the arrival of The Eternals.
Marvel Studios prepared its universe again as a diverse cast of A-listers will join them for the upcoming The Eternals.
Despite being affected by the coronavirus pandemic, the schedule of Marvel Studios’ movies finally secured final release dates. This time, The Eternals will grace the big screen.
This week, the official YouTube channel of Marvel Entertainment shared the first look of the upcoming film. The ensemble members of the cast include Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek. Lia McHugh, Lauren Ridloff, and Don Lee.
Former Game of Thrones stars Richard Madden and Kit Harington also joined the franchise.
What the 2-Minute Trailer Says About The Eternals
The first and new two-minute trailer did not show many details about the film. However, Hayek got the chance to introduce her character Ajak. The actress explained in the background how the group of superheroes started serving mankind through the centuries.
“We have watched and guided. We have helped them progress and seen them accomplish
Throughout the years we have never interfered… until now,” Ajak said.
The trailer also showed a glimpse of the characters and events after Captain America and Iron Man left during Avengers: Endgame.
Despite its less popularity, The Eternals will play the roles of superheroes who have not to receive enough spotlights yet. This follows the Marvel Studios’ plan for 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy.
The Eternals on Chloe Zhao’s Perspective
Meanwhile, the newest Academy Award winner Chloe Zhao will lead the whole film. In an interview with Variety, she revealed how changing Hayek’s character lets her combat ageism in Hollywood.
“I can’t take all the credits. When [executive producer] Nate Moore Nrst showed me the treatment, which he worked on with [writers] Kaz Firpo and Ryan Firpo, I was impressed with the age diversity of the characters they put together, and it was a big part of what got me really excited about ‘Eternals,’” the director said.
Hayek will also make a record for being a Mexican woman to appear as a superhero. According to the actress, her participation will make people feel they are seen.
Because of Zhao’s involvement, Marvel Boss Kevin Feige alleged that The Eternals will also grab an Academy Award soon.
“I’m excited to answer your questions about the future. I’d also like to give you a few quotes about when ‘Eternals’ wins best picture, and when ‘Avengers 5’ is the biggest movie of all time – so let’s bank those quotes as well,” Feige said.
