How to gain free access
In order to start enjoying access to the aforementioned comics stories, readers need only download or update the Marvel Unlimited mobile app, available either from Google Play for Android users or from the App Store for iOS users.
Having done that, they just have to tap the “Free Comics” option displayed on the landing screen. Just to be clear, there will be no payment requirement or any trial period offer when readers choose a particular comics title to read.
It should also be noted that users who already have the Marvel Comics app on their mobile devices, as well as customers who purchase from the web store and comiXology, will also enjoy access to the free comics stories for a limited time.
Formerly known as Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited, the subscription service was first launched in 2007. To date, its catalog has amassed more than 27,000 comics issues, featuring more recent offerings (new issues are added to Marvel Unlimited six months after they hit comic book stores), as well as classic story arcs starring a few of the comics giant’s most enduring characters like the Avengers, Spider-man, the Fantastic Four, and the X-Men.
As for non-subscribers who want to continue to enjoy content from Marvel Unlimited beyond May 4 of this year, they should know that the typical subscription costs just under US$10 every month.
For those staying at home and looking for free entertainment deals (other than comics) to help relieve boredom, they should check out HBO’s latest free offer. Those with accounts on Amazon can also check out its SXSW partnership, as well as the free family-friendly fare.
