Matt Damon and his wife, Luciana are, allegedly, having problems in their marriage because of the actor’s nonstop drinking.
“He’s not putting himself in dangerous situations. He’s just slumped on the couch, watching sports for hours, only getting up to head to the fridge for another cold one,” the source said.
The insider also claimed that the actor’s wife and their close friends don’t understand why he needs to drink so much.
Matt Damon doesn’t have a drinking problem
As of late, there is no proof that Damon has been drinking a lot and that this is causing problems in his marriage.
It is possible that the tabloid is just speculating on the actor’s drinking habits because of his previous stint in Saturday Night Live.
In 2018, Damon declared that he loves beer while portraying the role of Brett Kavanaugh.
Years ago, Damon, reportedly, revealed that he has given up drinking after George Clooney convinced him.
“Matt just wants to ease off partying so hard and knows that whenever he and George go out together, they have too much of a wild time,” a source said.
Matt Damon drowning his boredom in beer
However, this still didn’t stop the tabloids from spreading rumors about Damon’s drinking habits.
In May, Globe claimed that Matt Damon is dealing with his boredom while in quarantine by drinking nonstop.
A source claimed that the actor typically consumes 10 bottles of beer a day. And his close friends are, allegedly, worried that he would spiral out of control.
“Matt says beer is his preferred way to relieve boredom. They don’t have a lot of visitors but there is the clerk that delivers his Guinness!” a source said.
In July, Gossip Cop debunked several of the rumors claiming that Damon has been drinking nonstop.
Two years ago, Radar Online claimed that Damon was distancing himself from Ben Affleck because the latter was trying to get sober.
However, this isn’t the case because the two male actors are still good friends today.
The rumor-debunking site pointed out that drinking a few bottles of beer from time to time doesn’t make Matt Damon an alcoholic.
