MCU: ‘Eternals’ actor confirms the film went through reshoots

The highly-awaited phase four movie in the MCU, Eternals, went through some reshoots this year. And one of its cast members just confirmed it.

According to Comicbook, actress Lauren Ridloff confirmed that the Eternals movie went through reshoots earlier this year. She said that additional photography on the cosmic saga has already taken place.

Lauren recently interacted with HeyUGuys on YouTube while discussing her 2020 BAFTA Breakthrough nomination. In that, she told about newly shot sequences.

“We were doing re-shoots actually, we were just finishing the second day of the reshoots, and I was like ‘It’s a really good week, it was great to be back on set working, and it’s great to get this news.'”

Interestingly, she also praised her co-star and actress Angelina Jolie for her on-set leadership.

“Well, Angie, I have to say, she is both gentle and strong. I was so grateful and appreciative to have her there with us because I feel like she really is very aware of what our needs might be,” she said.

“She’s always thinking about the cast. She would ask questions that a lot of us were wondering, and she’s the one who stepped forward and asked those questions.”

Marvel’s Eternals plot and release details

Speaking of the upcoming MCU title, it’s not new to the term “reshoots.” In fact, most of the films in this big movie universe have inculcated this as a critical aspect of the immense success of the franchise.

Kevin Feige, the studio boss himself, told previously about how Marvel Studios uses additional photography apart from originally shot sequences.

“‘Reshoots’ was a bad word. ‘Oh, this movie’s in reshoots, there must be a problem,'” he said last year in a discussion at the New York Film Academy.

Meanwhile, what many people know of the MCU’s cosmic film is that it will act as an origin tale for what’s currently existing.

That is, fans will understand what led to the emergence of superhuman beings on Earth and in outer space.

As per the revised and updated release slate, the movie will arrive next year on Nov. 5th, 2021.

What’s coming in phase four?

Apart from Eternals, next year will also be crucial for Marvel Studios regarding other phase four installments. It will start with Black Widow‘s arrival and then Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

But before that, TV Shows like WandaVision and Falcon and the Winter Soldier will also make their debut.

Due to COVID-19, it’s still not sure whether all these film titles will make their way in theaters or not. Because they have already seen a significant delay in 2020, however, fans are hoping not to miss them at any cost.
