All the Marvel fans’ excitement levels reached another level when Kevin Feige announced a packed MCU Phase 5 slate.
According to Comicbook, during the Disney Investor Day 2020 event, Kevin Feige dropped a big bomb of great news. A virtual interactive presentation saw him announcing upcoming MCU Phase 5 TV shows and movies. Moreover, he also revealed the exact release dates of those properties about to arrive in 2021 or after that.
The latest announcement also includes many Disney Plus streaming series under the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
MCU Phase 5 full slate announced
Some of the unexpectedly new titles revealed are Nick Fury’s Secret Invasion and Armor Wars! While the biggest news came in the form of the highly-anticipated Fantastic Four movie under the MCU. It was perhaps the most awaited thing fans were waiting for.
Here are all the Marvel shows and movies that Marvel Studios’ boss Kevin Feige announced during Disney’s Investor Day event:
WandaVision 2nd Trailer
Marvel boss Feige unveiled a second trailer for the upcoming TV series on the Disney+ platform. The clip shows even more complicated situations of both Vision (Paul Bettany) and Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen). But it reveals a new cast member in the form of Kat Dennings. The actress makes a return as Darcy Lewis from Thor films. Ant-Man and the Wasp‘s Randall Park will also appear in the show. At the same time, Teyonah Parris as a grown-up Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes will also play crucial parts.
The show starts streaming on January 15, 2021.
“What If…?” official trailer
Among the most-awaited things in the future of Marvel is the What…If? Animated series. It will basically show all the beloved characters of the movie franchise but in reversed roles. That is, everyone will be seen in each other’s role. It will arrive in the summer of next year.
Loki series official trailer
The Investor Day event finally gave an exclusive, first-look at the God of Mischief, aka Tom Hiddleston’s Loki series. The first official trailer gives a ton of details about what’s to come next in the MCU itself.
Its release date is yet to be announced.
Hawkeye cast revealed
Well, it was already leaked more than a week ago, but now Marvel also shared the big news publicly. Hailee Steinfeld will play Kate Bishop in the Hawkeye TV show. She will be seen alongside Jeremy Renner, aka Clint Barton, who will train her.
Iman Vellani as Ms. Marvel
This news is also known to many fans of MCU, and considering the leaks, Kevin Feige also shared the same with the viewers. Iman Vellani is Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, a Pakistani teenage girl who idolizes Captain Marvel. Interestingly, she will also appear in the future installment of Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson.
It will start streaming towards the end of 2021.
Tatiana Maslany is She-Hulk
This revelation became quite a bit complicated a few days ago when news broke out that the actress won’t be in She-Hulk. However, Marvel has now made it official that Tatiana Maslany will be Jennifer Walters. Other cast members of the series also include Mark Ruffalo, a.k.a Bruce Banner himself!
Nick Fury’s Secret Invasion series
A new TV show based on Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury will also arrive soon. And it is titled Secret Invasion, the famous comic book title by Marvel. Fans will surely wait for it eagerly since it will try to show the actual reality of how Skrulls can harm the planet Earth. Ben Mendelsohn’s Talos, their leader, will also make his return in the show.
Thor: Love and Thunder release date
Kevin Feige also updated the fans regarding the arrival of the Thor 4 movie. The Natalie Portman-Chris Hemsworth starrer flick will be released on May 5 of 2022.
Fantastic Four official reveal
This news was the biggest gift for all die-hard MCU fanatics and comic book lovers. Finally, they witnessed the big announcement about the first-ever Fantastic Four film under the MCU! Its first hint was already seen in 2019’s Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Armor Wars series
The newly introduced exclusive Disney Plus title will see the return of Don Cheadle as James Rhodes, a.k.a. War Machine. It will try to show what can actually happen if Tony Stark’s armors fall into the wrong hands! The show will take place after Iron Man’s death in Avengers: Endgame.
Ironheart series announcement
A new female “Iron Man” hero is about to come soon. Dominique Thorne plays a gifted young engineer Riri Williams in the future TV Series under the MCU Phase 5. She will make her own version of Iron Man’s armor.
Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special
This will be an interesting thing for the viewers when it actually arrives on Disney Plus service. Director James Gunn will himself helm the original special show. It arrives in 2022 in a live-action version. It means all the cast members of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise will appear in it. And that’s because it will be shot alongside GOTG 3‘s production.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
Ant-Man and the Wasp will return once again in their next adventurous journey in this third installment. Peyton Reed will direct the film with Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, reprising their roles. Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer will also come back, along with newcomer Kathryn Newton as Cassie Lang. Plus, we will see “Kang the Conqueror” in the form of actor Jonathon Majors for the first time.
No recasting of Chadwick Boseman’s role
Towards the end of the presentation, Marvel boss Kevin Feige also reassured the fans that they wouldn’t recast late actor Chadwick Boseman. That is, Black Panther’s role won’t go to any other new actor in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Feige said that instead of this, Black Panther 2 would explore more of Wakanda, like its other important characters seen in the first part. The sequel will arrive on July 8 of 2022.
