Upcoming Spider-Man 3, starring Tom Holland, has brought one more cast member. Succession star Arian Moayed is the latest addition.
According to Comicbook, Succession actor Arian Moayed has reportedly joined the cast of Spider-Man 3. Recent leaks by Charles Murphy say that he will play a detective. However, his character’s name is still unknown. The Sony/MCU film is currently shooting in Atlanta, Georgia.
“Spider-Man 3” movie early details
As per the latest leak, Arian Moayed has a vital role in the Sony/Marvel title, scheduled to come out at the end of this year. But the fact that he’s playing a detective might be an extraordinary hint regarding the story itself.
Since it’s already known that Peter Parker (Tom Holland) is on the run after an identity reveals, police involvement becomes inevitable. And thus, the addition of Arian’s detective part in Spider-Man 3 may give a new twist to the entire plot of the movie.
When it comes to Peter’s allies in the police department, there’s one notable character for sure in the comics. He’s detective William Lamont from J. Michael Straczynski’s Amazing Spider-Man storyline.
Coming back to Arian Moayed, then he’s already shot several scenes for Spider-Man 3, as per the reports.
In between all the ongoing rumors and speculations, actor Tom Holland constantly denies the possibility of a crossover. And that’s regarding the heavy claims of actor Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield showing up in the third installment. But fans and scoopers are not ready to believe his words.
Because apart from the two previous Spider-Man stars, actors Alfred Molina and Willem Dafoe are also rumored to come back. And all these speculations combined can’t be baseless, right?
Yes, there’s no official word from Marvel over such strong claims, but it seems likely that they might turn out to be true eventually.
Upcoming MCU properties
Meanwhile, there are a lot of recent superhero entries about to arrive in the cinematic universe. Phase four has already begun with WandaVision and another upcoming series Falcon and the Winter Soldier.
Then there are the highly-awaited films like Black Widow, Shang-Chi, and Eternals. However, their theatrical release looks uncertain due to rising cases of COVID-19. Most of the cinema halls are currently shut down, and people are still hesitating to go outside.
Keeping that in mind, it will be difficult for Marvel Studios to hold the release of its movies for a more extended period, because they have already witnessed a delay of more than a year now.
Coming back to other future titles like Spider-Man 3, Thor 4, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, they are still in the production phase.
