Meghan Markle allegedly did not listen to what Duchess Camilla Parker Bowles told her when she was about to join the royal family, a report claims.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry received the same advice from Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles about handling pressure and negative headlines from the press. However, both allegedly did not listen to what the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall told them.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry allegedly didn’t listen to royal advice
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced that they were stepping back from their royal duties last year. However, the move might not be necessary if they only listened to the advice given to them.
An unnamed source told MailOnline that the Duchess of Sussex was grateful to Camilla who was very supportive of her. The Duchess of Cornwall had invited her out for private lunches when she was still in the U.K.
Camilla allegedly told Markle to focus on the positive side of her new role. She also advised her to “ride out the storm” whenever she encounters negative headlines.
The outlet noted that just like Meghan, Camilla endured years of negative coverage especially because many blamed her for Prince Charles and Princess Diana’s divorce. However, Markle allegedly didn’t heed her words of wisdom.
“She was very sensitive to Meghan and provided her with support, advising her to ride out the storm and that it would all pass—but ultimately Meghan didn’t listen,” the anonymous tipster said.
The insider added that Prince Charles gave the same advice to his son, Prince Harry. However, he also did not heed it because they decided to leave their post as senior working royals.
Camilla and Meghan’s negative headlines
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry currently settle in Los Angles. They are still plagued with negative coverage from time to time.
Meanwhile, Camilla also endured years of negative headlines. Princess Diana said in her infamous Panorama interview that her marriage with Prince Charles did not work out because there were three of them in the said union.
The late Princess of Wales implied Prince Charles and Camilla’s affair. Her words prompted the public to view Camilla negatively because she was involved with Prince Charles while he was still married to Princess Diana.
Prince Charles and Camilla waited for years before they tied the knot. They eventually got married 13 years after his divorce and 8 years after Princess Diana’s death.
They exchanged “I do’s” in 2005. And at the time, the British public had started embracing Camilla.
