Rumors about the plan of Meghan Markle to run for the presidency have been rampant for a long while. Now, an alleged close friend confirmed Prince Harry’s wife has her eyes on the presidential seat.
After the Duchess of Sussex left her royal role, rumors have it that she now wants to have the highest office in the U.S.
“One of the reasons she was so keen not to give up her American citizenship was so she had the option to go into politics,” her alleged pal told Vanity Fair. “I think if Meghan and Harry ever gave up their titles, she would seriously consider running for president.”
Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie also seemed to confirm Meghan’s desire to be the next U.S. president.
“Meghan is the embodiment of the American dream. One day we may see Meghan become president,” he previously said.
Recently, Prince Harry and his 39-year-old better half sparked a massive controversy after making a video urging Americans to vote. The clip seemed to imply that the former actress was against the current U.S. President Donald Trump, Page Six noted.
It also became an issue after they broke a major royal protocol of being politically neutral.
Buckingham Palace remained mum about the issue, saying their comments were “in a personal capacity.”
It also stressed that the two were no longer working senior royals.
Trump, alternatively, said he’s not a fan of Meghan. “I wish a lot of luck to Harry because he’s gonna need it,” he mockingly said.
Meanwhile, Meghan McCain weighed in on the issue that Meghan wanted to run as the U.S. president.
After hearing the news, the daughter of the late Senator John McCain shaded the former Suits star in a now-deleted tweet.
The View host also seemed to be not a fan of the mother-of-one. She re-tweeted the news about Meghan’s alleged plan to join the 2024 presidential election.
She then captioned it with a shady, “Of… the United States…?,” along with a sour-faced emoji. However, she later deleted her post, which was obtained by HollywoodLife.
Indeed, Meghan has been politically active as of late. But, she never publicly showed her interest in running for office.
Meghan Markle is only continuously encouraging Americans to cast their vote since she returned to the U.S. with Prince Harry and son, Archie.
