Meghan Markle, allegedly, left the royal family because she didn’t want to live at her sister-in-law Kate Middleton’s shadow.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have decided to step back from their royal duties. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the U.K. and moved to the U.S.A. closer to her mom, Doria Ragland, and away from the British tabloids that have been attacking the duchess.
However, a new claim alleged that there was another reason Markle wanted to leave the royal family so bad.
Meghan Markle vs. Kate Middleton
Meghan Markle has always been compared to Kate Middleton from the time she joined the royal family. Both have great taste in fashion and are married to the two most popular royal princes.
However, one is married to the heir apparent. The Duchess of Cambridge is set to be the next queen consort when Prince William is crowned king.
That is something far-fetched for Markle as her husband, Prince Harry, is way down the line of succession. Thus, between the two, Middleton weighs more for the monarchy.
Markle wanted to be free from Middleton’s shadow
Celebrity Laundry claimed that Markle had issues with her sister-in-law. The publication’s report took a cue from Victoria Mather’s statements.
Mathers, Vanity Fair’s royal watcher, appeared on MSNBC Live and talked about Markle. According to her, Prince Harry’s better-half didn’t want to “spend the rest of her life looking at Kate Middleton’s back as she sat in the second row to the future queen.”
The so-called royal watcher also stressed that Prince Harry is only spare to the heir, and Markle didn’t want that. She didn’t want to be the second-best. Unfortunately, their significance is a “matter of precedence” to the throne.
Mather also alleged that Markle gave Middleton a knife for Christmas. However, such a claim has not been verified.
Mather’s statements have several red flags
Gossip Cop debunked the report for many reasons. First, it found out that Mather never professionally held the title of “royal watcher.” Although she worked for Vanity Fair at one point, she didn’t follow the royals because she was a travel editor.
Second, Mather is not fond of Markle in the first place. She has a bias against the former “Suits” star. She said that the Duchess of Sussex was “only five clicks up from trailer trash.”
The rumor-debunking site felt that Mathers only used the interview as a national platform to voice her bitter grievances against Meghan Markle.
Third, Celeb Dirty Laundry didn’t provide a solid reason for Prince Harry and Markle’s departure from the royal family. Thus, they use an individual’s statement to come up with their theories.
