Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were allegedly very furious when Buckingham Palace released a statement about their public service.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to step back from their royal duties in 2020. After a year, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex decided that they would never return as working royals. However, the palace released a statement that allegedly infuriated them.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry allegedly furious with this
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry allegedly “hit the roof” when the Queen decided to take away their titles one year after Megxit. The royal couple was stung when Buckingham Palace hinted that they didn’t have time for a “life of public service,” according to ITV’s royal editor Chris Ship.
In response to the palace’s statement, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex released a statement saying, “We can all live a life of service. Service is universal.”
“When they saw that statement, Harry and Meghan hit the roof,” Ship was quoted by Daily Star as saying on ITV News on Friday.
The Sussexes believe they are living a life of service and wanted to do it from the United States. However, the palace doesn’t think so that they could continue their duties after they announced their upcoming tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Queen stripped the Sussexes of their patronages
Buckingham Palace released a statement announcing that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s honorary military titles and royal patronages will be returned to the Queen and be redistributed among the members of the royal family. Queen Elizabeth II made it known that it’s not possible for the Sussexes to live a life of public service after stepping away from their royal duties.
The palace announced that they were saddened by Prince Harry and Markle’s decision. However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex would “remain much loved members of the family.”
Prince Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are having a sit-down interview with Oprah for a CBS primetime special entitled Oprah with Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special. Markle will open up about her marriage, motherhood and how she handles her life under intense public pressure. Meanwhile, Prince Harry will talk about their life after moving into the United States and their plans for the future.
However, their upcoming interview is allegedly a cause of concern among the royal family, especially for Prince William. The Duke of Cambridge was concerned because it reminded him of their mom Princess Diana’s infamous Panorama interview where the late Princess of Wales implied about Prince Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker Bowles.
