Meghan Markle and her dad, Thomas Markle Sr. are not on speaking terms. The latter was caught staging photos in the run-up of Prince Harry and Markle’s royal wedding and canceled his attendance on her big day. He claimed that the former actress also used to work with paparazzi.
Meghan Markle was a successful actress before she joined the royal family. She was part of USA Network’s hit legal drama Suits. According to her father, she also staged her photos in the past.
“Apparently Meghan has made deals with the paparazzi. She planned it,” Markle Sr. told The Sun in an exclusive interview.
However, he did not go into detail what photos of Markle were staged.
Just days before Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal wedding, the bride’s father made headlines for posing paparazzi photos. He was photographed working out ahead of the wedding and being measured for his suit. However, all of those photos were staged.
According to the former lighting director, they forced him to stage those photos. However, he felt like a “complete fool” after it made headlines.
“He’s telling friends he feels scammed by those who did the pictures but more worryingly he now has to face the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family,” a family friend told Mirror.
“Tom was worried about the trip over to the UK as it was. He does not like to be the centre of attention but now all eyes will be on him even more given what has now emerged. He’ll hate the fact that people think he has betrayed them and he’ll be fearful what they think.”
Markle Sr. skipped the royal wedding because he had heart surgery and was recovering at the time. However, an insider told Daily Mail that he didn’t really have surgery and only made up the story to avoid the royal family.
“Ever since Meg’s relationship with Harry was made public two years ago we have lived our once normal lives under the spotlight every second,” Markle Jr. said.
Markle’s half-sister Samantha also defended their dad by taking the blame. According to her, it was her idea.
“The bad press over my father doing staged photos is my fault. The media was unfairly making him look bad so I suggested he do positive photos for his benefit and the benefit of the royal family. We had no idea he would be taken advantage of. It was not for money @KensingtonRoyal,” Samantha wrote on Twitter.
