Meghan Markle may work behind the scenes of future projects

It is highly likely Meghan Markle will be executively producing new projects in Hollywood instead of acting again.

News emerged Meghan Markle and her husband, Prince Harry, were pitching ideas to different networks about a new project. But instead of seeing the Duchess of Sussex on screen again, she might work behind the scenes.

Meghan’s possible work behind the camera

Meghan rose to stardom through the hit legal drama series Suits. Hence, agent-producer Jonathan Shalit believed she could earn $50 million if she returned to acting again.

However, royal commentator Russell Myers was convinced the former actress was no longer interested in acting. As the couple was, reportedly, pitching ideas of big Hollywood projects, she might be executive producing instead.

“They have suggested a series focusing on the empowerment of women and young girls in today’s world,” a TV insider said, via Express. “It will home in on race issues, something Meghan has always been passionate about.”

Allegedly, Meghan and Prince Harry pitched a TV show that would tackle “female empowerment, racial inequality, and discrimination.”

“It’s got quite a political stance and will draw on feminism,” the source continued. “They want the series to continue their vision of empowerment for young people.”

Daily Mail reported Prince Harry and Meghan wanted to be joint producers of the said project. Although they might make an appearance, it would be about ordinary people and not them.

Prince Harry, Meghan pitching a project idea to different networks

Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan relocated to California, rumors had it they were planning to gain a foothold in Hollywood.

Sources told Variety they had been quietly pitching an idea for a new project to different big networks.

However, the concept for this mysterious project remained under lock and key. But, there were reports they had meetings with networks in June.

Insiders revealed their pitch had been shopped to several media companies. Allegedly, one of which was NBCUniversal.

The Sussexes, allegedly, had a meeting with the networks’ top executives, including NBCUniversal Content Studios chairman Bonnie Hammer. Markle and Hammer had known each other for years since she was still part of Suits.

But, NBCUniversal refused to comment on the issue.

A source also told the publication Meghan had no interest in acting, so she would not be seen in front of the camera.

So far, Prince Harry had a partnership with Oprah Winfrey for an Apple TV+ docuseries about mental health. He was also part of the new Netflix documentary, Rising Phoenix, about the Paralympic Games.
