Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s move to Montecito made a huge difference in the area because they brought a lot of attention to the place, a report says.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down from their royal duties in January 2020. After carrying out their final engagement, they moved to Australia and then, United States. The royal couple is currently residing in their $14-million mansion in Santa Barbara, and since then, the attention towards the place has been massive.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry put Montecito on the map
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved to Montecito in June 2020 after staying in Tyler Perry’s home for a couple of months. According to their neighbor, Robe Lowe, the couple “brought a lot of attention to my sleepy little town,” Hello! reported.
Lowe spoke with E! News about the couple’s move, and he shared the changes in the area following Prince Harry and Markle’s arrival. According to him, once the royals moved into a neighborhood, the neighborhood doesn’t stay the same.
“When Oprah moved in, that began the sort of resurgence of Montecito,” he said.
“Now that the royals are here… the good news is property values go up, the bad news is the line is longer at Starbucks.”
Sussexes interview allegedly shot in Robe’s home
There are rumors that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah Winfrey was filmed at his house. The speculation is not unlikely because they are all living in the same neighborhood.
Lowe said that many thought the interview was shot at his house. However, many also believed it was filmed at his friend Ted Sarandos’. He denied that it was filmed in his place, but in his opinion, they shot it at Oprah Winfrey’s home.
“Here’s my thing and I have no idea: I think they just plain old shot it at Oprah’s. I swear to you, and they just said it was a mystery location,” he added.
Prince Harry and Markle have a lot of celebrity neighbors in their Montecito mansion. Aside from Lowe and Winfrey, Tom Cruise and Ellen DeGeneres live in the same neighborhood.
Prince Harry shares highlights in U.S. move
Prince Harry said that one of the highlights of their move to the United States is him being able to ride his bike with his son, Archie, on it. According to him, he hadn’t been able to do it during his childhood years.
However, Daniel Elser of News.com.au accused Prince Harry of rewriting history. Elser shared photos of Prince Charles riding a bike with Prince Harry when he was a kid. Apparently, Prince Charles had enjoyed bike rides with his sons.
