Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just signed a deal with Netflix, but the Queen was allegedly not informed, according to a source.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry moved to the U.S. after stepping down as senior members of the royal family. At present, the royal couple is striving in Hollywood. They just sealed a deal with Netflix, but the Queen only learned about it from her aides.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix deal
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed a multi-year deal with Netflix, Variety reported. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be producing documentaries, feature films, scripted television shows, and children’s series.
“Our lives, both independent of each other and as a couple, have allowed us to understand the power of the human spirit: of courage, resilience, and the need for connection,” the couple said.
“Through our work with diverse communities and their environments, to shining a light on people and causes around the world, our focus will be on creating content that informs but also gives hope.”
Queen not aware of the Netflix deal
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle allegedly failed to inform Queen Elizabeth II about the deal. Her Majesty had only learned about it from her aides after the media reported it.
“Harry did not inform the Queen about the Netflix deal,” a source told Fabulous.
The insider added that the Queen was aware of the pitfalls when senior royals embark on lucrative projects. For instance, Prince Edward’s production company flopped.
“Her view is simple, the Royals are not for sale and danger surrounds high profile roles outside of the institution itself,” the insider added.
“But knowing her grandson Harry as she does, the Queen will know there would have been little chance of talking Harry and Meghan out of it.”
Palace to examine the deal
According to the outlet, the palace will go over Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix deal. Another insider alleged that the commercial deal would be scrutinized because they are still paying Frogmore Cottage’s refurbishments.
“Under the terms of their deal to forgo their royal duties, they agreed any commercial deals would be subject to discussion,” a source told The Mirror.
Meghan allegedly threatened the royal family
Meanwhile, National Enquirer claimed that Meghan Markle demanded $90 million and threat the royals with a tell-all interview or book. However, the report was not true.
The Duchess of Sussex never demanded cash. She and Prince Harry took out a mortgage to purchase their home in Montecito.
In addition, the Sussexes are not feuding with the members of the Firm. Thus, there is no reason for blackmail.
And it’s unlikely the couple would want to ask the royals for money. Prince Harry and Markle already said they wanted to be financially independent.
Also, with National Enquirer’s reputation for publishing articles based on the statements of its undependable sources, this could be another groundless claim waiting to be debunked.
