Meghan Markle and Prince Harry in a delicate balancing act
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry wanted the best for their son. In fact, they announced that they would step back from their royal duties months after they welcomed Archie in a bid of giving him a private life.
However, royal commentator Daniela Elser said they have to deal with a “delicate balancing act.” The couple has to maintain a happy medium between the public and private areas of their child’s life.
Elser believed that all of the Sussexes’ outings with Archie are fully controlled and calibrated. They are committed to their son’s privacy with a tacit acceptance of the public interest in him. Thus, the need for the royal couple to weigh in on the matter.
“It’s a delicate balancing act: Reveal him too much and the Sussexes will open themselves up to criticism they are reneging on their commitment to give him a normal life,” Elser wrote. “However, hide him away and risk the umbrage and grumbling of their legion of fans.”
Elser noted that it would not be an easy job. But Prince Harry and Markle managed to “succeed at the highwire act.”
