Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have, allegedly, gone into hiding following their interview with Oprah Winfrey.
According to New Idea, Meghan Markle and her husband expected Queen Elizabeth to give a controversial statement following their shocking allegations.
But when the monarch didn’t, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex figured out that they would receive backlash for the things that they said.
Meghan Markle, Prince Harry have gone recluse
As such, a source told the tabloid that Prince Harry and Markle have decided to go into hiding in their home to avoid further criticisms.
“Harry and Meghan expected to face backlash, but nothing like this. They’ve decided to keep relatively quiet for a little while but don’t take that as them not plotting their next move,” the source said.
Meghan Markle, Prince Harry furious with Queen Elizabeth
The insider also claimed that it is possible that in the next few months, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will once again step out in public to expose more dirt on the royal family.
“They expected this Oprah thing to prompt a massive, groveling response from Buckingham Palace and were furious when the queen issued her usual terse statement – aside from the part where she basically accused the Sussexes of lying through her ‘some recollections’ may vary zinger. Since then, they’ve been holed up at home,” the source said.
Rumors debunked
However, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to stay at home doesn’t have anything to do with their recent interview.
The couple has been staying at their mansion in Beverly Hills due to the coronavirus pandemic.
There is also no proof that the Sussexes were hoping to get a different reaction from the queen and the royal family after their interview. After all, they are aware that the royals don’t normally talk about their family’s issues in public.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Lifetime movie
Meanwhile, Markle and Prince Harry will continue to stay in the limelight. This week, it was announced that their Megxit will be adapted into a movie by Lifetime.
Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace is slated for release in the fall.
