Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced earlier this year that they are expecting their second baby. During their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey for a CBS special last month, both announced that they are expecting a girl. One outlet claimed that they are spending hundreds of thousands for their little one’s nursery.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very excited about their upcoming bundle of joy. They are so happy that they are sparing no expense for their little one’s nursery, Star reported.
The outlet also claimed that it was Prince Harry who led the building of the nursery that allegedly costs $400,000. The outlet claimed that Meghan Markle’s husband has “an artistic streak” and wants to use his flair on their baby’s nursery.
The royal couple allegedly spent thousands from the crib to the carpet. They also reportedly wanted Archie and his younger sister to share a room not because of space but to give them an opportunity to bond early on.
Gossip Cop looked into the report but could not confirm or debunk it. The rumor-debunking site has no idea if Prince Harry is designing a nursery from scratch. However, it noted that the photo included in the report can be found on Google when one searches for “fancy nursery.”
Meanwhile, another outlet, Us Weekly, claimed that it’s Meghan who is designing the nursery. The rumor-debunking site pointed out that the conflicting reports only show how unreliable the outlet is.
Gossip Cop also questioned the reputation of the outlet because it published several false stories about Markle in the past. For instance, it claimed that the duchess had a fling with George Clooney.
It also claimed that Prince Harry would do a tell-all last June. However, that never happened. Also, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not advertised or discussed their nursery, so the outlet can’t estimate how much it costs.
Prior to the report about Meghan Markle spending hundreds of thousands for her daughter’s nursery, there were already several stories about her allegedly spending loads of money on frivolous things. And the cost of the nursery is just more of the same.
For instance, Globe previously reported that she spent $54,000 a year on her hair. Meanwhile, Woman’s Day blamed them for the missing $35 million money that had nothing to do with them.
Thus, even if Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could afford an expensive luxury, one should still take the report with a grain of salt.
