Prince Harry and Meghan Markle dropped several explosive claims during their tell-all interview with Oprah.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry recently sat down for an interview. This took place nearly a year after they officially stepped down as senior royals.
Over two decades ago, a similar thing happened to the Wales household. About three years after their official separation, Prince Charles’ then-wife, Princess Diana took an interview with BBC’s Panorama.
Reports said that the Princess of Wales’ statements rocked the British Monarch to the core. But, a royal expert asserted that the Sussexes are a “bigger threat,” according to The International News.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry “targeted everyone”
Speaking to Fox News, Nick Bullen stated that the engagement with Oprah was the “most explosive royal interview” in his lifetime. He explained that it was “bigger” than Princess Diana’s controversial interview in 1995.
Unlike the late royal, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex appear to have “targeted everyone” within the British Monarchy. Despite disclaiming that they were not referring to Queen Elizabeth, the Sussexes reportedly implicated her in the whole debacle because she is the “head of the institution.”
Princess Diana’s bombshell interview in 1995
The Daily Express released a similar report about the issue. As reiterated, the royal expert noted that Princess Diana only focused her assertions on Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles.
The interview in question was the one wherein the Princess of Wales told the rest of the world about how “crowded” her marriage was to the Prince of Wales. She also exposed that there were three people in it, seemingly implying that her then-husband was having an affair.
Months after the engagement with BBC’s Martin Bashir, Queen Elizabeth reportedly urged the Wales couple to file for divorce. They finalized the papers a year later and ended the marriage for good in 1996.
Duke of Sussex fears that “history is repeating itself”
During their interview with Oprah Winfrey, reports said that Prince Harry referenced Princess Diana a couple of times. Apart from revealing things about his inheritance from his mother, he also shared some of his thoughts about her and his wife. He claimed that his “biggest concern was history repeating itself.”
Amid the discussion, he consequently told the television personality that he feels “relieved and happy” to talk about their concerns to her, alongside Meghan Markle. The royal-born Prince even pointed out that he could not begin to imagine what the Princess of Wales felt and experienced “going through [the] process by herself.”
