Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal exit gets adapted for a new drama film on Lifetime.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry announced in January that they would step back as senior members of the British Royal Family. It came as a shocking move from the Sussex couple as no one expected it to happen.
Amid all the controversies, Queen Elizabeth II still wished them well in the new chapter of their lives. They officially left their posts as British royals on March 31.
The deal of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s exit
As previously announced, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex intended to become “financially independent.” They also initially wanted to continue serving the Queen and the Crown despite leaving the United Kingdom for North America.
However, the results of the “crisis talks” in Sandringham were not the ones Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reportedly aspired. Accordingly, they ended up ceasing to represent the Queen and their royal titles.
It took several months before the deal of their royal exit or “Megxit” came into conclusion. As it happened, tensions and disputes have further developed between the Sussex couple and the rest of the senior royals.
While this has remained unclear before the public, all of the questions regarding their exit might now get answered. As revealed, the whole narrative of Megxit will turn into a dramatized film, according to Fox News.
Megxit gets dramatized for Lifetime
The network, Lifetime, is reportedly working on the material, which will focus on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s royal exit. Based on the network’s press release, the upcoming film now has a working title, “Harry & Meghan: Escaping The Palace.”
It will also serve as the “third installment” to the network’s film series centering on the Sussex couple. As recalled, the first two films, which already aired in the past, obtained the titles: Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance and Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal.
Casting and production already in the works
Fox News obtained some details about the upcoming material. As stated, the film will “detail” the struggles of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry as they live the royal life and arrive at parenthood. It will also reportedly follow the events from Archie Harrison’s birth leading to their “imminent” exit.
Merideth Finn and Michele Weiss are serving as Executive Producers. As for the script, Scarlett Lacey is now reportedly working on it.
It has remained unknown, though, who will play the roles of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. But, if considering the previous two films, the upcoming material might also utilize “real-life characters” that surround the couple.
