Meghan Markle secret: Duchess is big fan of Anais Nin’s novels

Meghan Markle is said to be a big fan of Anais Nin’s novels.

Meghan Markle, 39, has her favorite books, and one of them is by author Anais Nin.

In a report by The Sun, the Duchess of Sussex, reportedly, loves “The Four-Chambered Heart.”

What is “The Four-Chambered Heart” about?

It’s a love story published in 1950, which is said to be a real-life story inspired by Nin’s relationship with poet Gonzalo Moré.

According to its synopsis, the story revolves around well-defined characters named Djuna, Rango, and Zora, with their “rhythmic waves of tension” and “a powerful climax.”

The novel is said to help the readers examine how each person experiences love in their way.

Meghan Markle and her ‘feminist’ idol

Meghan Markle likes the Spanish-Cuban author because of her free spirit and her unique writing.

When the Duchess of Sussex became a guest editor for the British Vogue in September 2019, she cited a quote from the book that helped her develop the inspiration for the magazine’s issue.

She wrote, “I had read a book many moons ago called ‘The Four-Chambered Heart,’ by Anaïs Nin, which had a quote that has always resonated with me: ‘I must be a mermaid, Rango. I have no fear of depths and a great fear of shallow living.'”

The former Suits star added, “For this issue, I imagined, why would we swim in the shallow end of the pool when we could go to the deep end?”

She continued, “A metaphor for life, as well as for this issue. Let’s be braver. Let’s go a bit deeper.”

With Anais Nin being a feminist icon, Meghan Markle reportedly found the author’s writings as “interesting and liberating.”

The Sun’s source claimed, “A lot of Anais’ books are quite explicit, but Meghan likes the arty way they are written.”

A nod to Anais Nin

Right after she and Prince Harry, 36, started dating in 2016, Meghan Markle, reportedly, used an email that featured a term that was a nod to Nin’s autobiographical novel.

According to The Sun, Markle has also used one of the Anais Nin’s naughty character in her email address.

However, the email address has not been disclosed.
