Meghan Markle and Prince Harry decided to step down because the Duchess reportedly believed of the “conspiracy against her.”
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shocked the world when they announced their desire to step down as senior royals. While intending to become “financially independent,” they initially wanted to continue serving the Crown.
However, things did not reportedly go along their way. Aside from the independence, Queen Elizabeth II also “stripped down” their titles. These even included the royal-born Prince’s military honors.
Although the “Megxit” deal has already come into conclusion, several fans and experts have reportedly remained “baffled” with the couple’s decision. Nevertheless, a “friend” of the Duchess of Sussex reportedly clarified why they left the royal life, according to The Times.
Meghan Markle “wanted out” from the beginning
In 2018, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry tied the knot at St George’s Chapel, inside Windsor Castle. While they reportedly looked happy and excited about the next chapter of their lives, the source revealed that the Duchess immediately felt “out of place.”
As explained, the former actress felt like an “outsider” inside the British Royal Family. Shortly after realizing her new life, “she wanted out,” the anonymous friend said.
The source continued to assert that Meghan “struggled” with her new life. Aside from the pressures of living the royal life, she also reportedly found it difficult because of being “away from pals.”
The former Suits actress was also reportedly “convinced” that there was a “conspiracy against her.” This is why she stayed behind closed doors in “self-isolation” inside Frogmore Cottage, the source said.
Post-Megxit in Canada and the United States
After formally leaving their royal life behind, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have since relocated to the United States. Although, they stayed for weeks in Canada, according to The Sun UK.
The reports continued to assert that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have already laid out their plans for the next chapter of their lives outside the British Monarchy. However, these new endeavors are currently put “on hold” because of the pandemic crisis.
It remains unclear, though, what exactly these plans are. For all the experts and fans know is that their new non-profit organization, “Archewell” is already in the works.
Also, the same publication noted that the biography of the couple titled, Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of A Modern Royal Family, will be available in August.
As speculated, the upcoming biography will reportedly include the real narrative of Megxit. However, it will not touch on the fall out between Meghan Markle and her father, Thomas Markle, Sr, the reports added.
